The Devil We Don't Know

As part of the signings of Vinny Castilla and Cristian Guzman, the Washington Nationals surrendered their 2005 second and third round draft picks to the Colorado Rockies and Minnesota Twins. I thought it would be interesting to see what was selected with those picks (yes, I know the players selected would not necessarily be the ones selected by the Nats). With the second round pick, the Rockies selected 21 year old RH OF Daniel Carte. Carte is currently playing in Short Season Tri-City (NY-Penn League). Since June 21, his numbers: 230/292/379 in 45G (161AB) 4HR 16RBI 11BB 50K With the third round pick, the Twins selected 22 year old LHP Brian Duensing. In Rookie League Elizabethton, Duensing is 3-2 in 9G (6 starts) with 2.83ERA. In 35IP, he has surrendered 36H (4HR) with 11BB and 36K. I'll provide a weekly update on the Devil We Don't Know.
